  33             <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA2000">Code-Division Multiple Access 2000</a> (CDMA2000), которая была главным конкурентом UMTS.
  34             Это позволило впервые объединить сети сотовой связи по всему миру в единый протокол, избавив путешественников от необходимости носить с собой телефон с двумя радиомодулями.
  35             Одной из причин, по которой LTE удалось достичь этого, была поддержка смешанного режима работы сети, где CDMA2000 (или UMTS) использовался для голосовых вызовов, а LTE - для передачи данных.
  36             Это обеспечило операторам сотовой связи беспрепятственный путь модернизации.
